Experience

Dr. Lisa Fredrickson has 20 years of industry experience as an electrical engineer with a focus on communication and storage systems, signal processing, image processing, VLSI design, error-correction, and cryptography.  She primarily specialized in hardware applications, but also worked on software and algorithm design. As an attorney, she has prepared and analyzed patents including electronic circuit and systems as well as encryption methods, secure transaction systems, and image processing methods.

Dr. Fredrickson was previously employed by Agere Systems, Seagate Technology, Quantum Corp, and IBM, where she analyzed systems, designed signal processors, and designed, debugged, and verified integrated circuits. Dr. Fredrickson is a primary inventor on 28 issued U.S. patents.  Patented inventions include methods and circuitry for magnetic recording and other storage technologies, trellis coding, soft decision decoding, and error correction systems.
