Elizabeth Swanson
All Intellectual Property Law
Elizabeth Swanson has twenty years of experience in intellectual property law, including prosecution and litigation of intellectual property rights. Ms. Swanson's practice also includes anti-counterfeiting services and background research using reverse DNS lookup tools, and issuing NOCI's and cease and desist letters.
As an example of her enforcement practice, Ms. Swanson's papers and oral argument resulted in a temporary restraining order closing a design patent infringer's display booth at New York City's largest annual cosmetics show, thus allowing her client to successfully launch its patented product. For another client, she assisted in representing a claim against patent infringement which involved chemical and mechanical aspects to the company's product.
Ms. Swanson's experience in working with non-U.S. intellectual property, especially with Chinese trademarks, administrative and court based investigations, has proven invaluable to clients who manufacture products in China. She ensures that her client's intellectual property is registered with both Chinese Customs officials and with U.S. Customs to stop counterfeit and infringing material from entering the United States from China.
Ms. Swanson's technical background is in cellular and molecular biology previously having conducted experiments testing genetic control of protein synthesis in bacteria and animal viruses.
